FAQ
Questions, answered honestly
The questions patients ask me most, with evidence-first answers. For anything specific to you, a consultation is always the right place to start.
How long do fillers last?
+
Most hyaluronic acid fillers last 6 to 18 months depending on the product, the area treated, and how quickly your body metabolizes them. Some studies show traces of filler persisting much longer. During your consultation we'll discuss realistic timelines for the specific product and area you're considering.

Hyaluronidase, an enzyme, breaks down hyaluronic acid filler safely, and it does not dissolve or damage your natural tissue. Skin does not become loose or 'ruined' after dissolving in the vast majority of cases. I often use ultrasound guidance to dissolve precisely where old filler sits.

Rapid weight loss from GLP-1 medications can trigger telogen effluvium, a temporary shedding phase, and nutritional factors can play a role. It is usually treatable and often reversible. I have presented research on cutaneous changes in the GLP-1 population and treat this frequently.

Effective options depend on the cause and can include prescription therapies, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), ScalpStim, and multi-modal plans that combine approaches. The first step is an accurate diagnosis of why the hair is shedding or thinning.

Declining estrogen affects collagen, skin thickness, dryness, and hair density. A combination of skincare, in-office treatments, and hair-directed therapies can address these changes. This is one of my clinical focus areas.

+
Not when dosed and placed conservatively. My philosophy is that results should look like you on your best day: refreshed, natural, and never frozen or overfilled. We always start with the least intervention that achieves your goal.
Do you treat all skin tones with lasers?
+
Yes. Device and setting selection matters greatly for melanin-rich skin, and technologies like PicoSure Pro allow safe, effective treatment across skin tones. This is discussed openly at your consultation.
